The Independent National Electoral Commission on Thursday, says it will appeal a court order asking the commission to allow two Nigerians vote with their temporary voter cards.
The voters had filed a suit on February 8th challenging INEC on the position that only a permanent voter card can be used in an election. The 9th Brigade of the Nigerian Army on Thursday recovered 1,671 Permanent Voter Cards in an apartment in the Olodi-Apapa area of Lagos State.
The Brigade Commander, said three persons found in the apartment were arrested, following a tip-off, however, the prime suspect is still at large. Ballot papers were also found in the apartment including cutlasses, and Indian hemp.
In another development, Author and activist, Reno Omokri, has accused, President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu of rigging the 2023 presidential election intelligently. In a series of tweets, Reno stated that Tinubu used his conscience in rigging the presidential election, by allowing other candidates to have votes during the rigging process. Omokri however described Peter Obi as the rigger-in-chief of the presidential election adding that he rigged the election unintelligently.
Finally, the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike during the commissioning of a road project in the state on Thursday, said that he won’t be running for president again because Power has finally rotated to the south, adding that he never campaigned against the Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi because the Integrity group which is the G5 governors had vowed to ensure that anywhere the Labour Party was in the lead the APC must come second and vise versa.
