Peter Obi Challenges INEC + CBN Denies Funding Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour – Trending With Ojy Okpe

The legal team of the Labour Party on Monday met with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission in a bid to inspect materials used for the February 25th presidential poll. The court of appeal had granted leave to Peter Obi to have access to all the sensitive materials used by INEC for the election.

The Labour Party has accused INEC of not allowing Obi’s lawyers access to the materials despite the court ruling. Peter Obi spoke on Arise TV morning show stating that despite court orders, INEC has refused to grant him access to election materials and that INEC as a public institution, should be open to allow him challenge the process at which they arrived at declaring the winner of the election.

The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission professor Mahmood Yakubu during the meeting with lawyers of the Labour Party said that the commission has nothing to hide, assuring that the commission would make available any document the party requests. In another development, a group of protesters known as The Natives on Monday staged a demonstration in the federal capital territory Abuja, warning Peter Obi, and Atiku Abubakar against intimidating the judiciary.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria Godwin Emefiele on monday described reports that he was plotting against president elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as false and malicious. On Monday, the headline by the Nation Newspaper read that Emefiele launched a fresh plot against President-elect Tinubu and went to report sources stating that the CBN had released N500 million Naira in new bank notes to shore up the campaign of the Labour Party candidate in Lagos state, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, to enable him defeat incumbent governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Finally, following the announcement by the Central Bank of Nigeria, authorizing deposit money banks to accept old Naira notes; in line with the Supreme Court Ruling granting its use till December 31st, a video that made the rounds on social media, revealed shredded bundles of the Naira notes in denominations of N500 and N1,000.
