Oyebanji Congratulates Aiyedatiwa On Ondo Governorship Victory, Hails APC Leadership

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has congratulated Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on his re-election victory in the November 16, 2024, gubernatorial election.

Aiyedatiwa, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday following the collation of results.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, Governor Oyebanji described the victory as a testament to the quality of governance under the APC in Ondo State and a vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership.

Oyebanji praised Ondo State voters for reaffirming their trust in the APC, citing the party’s record of verifiable achievement. He emphasised that the victory presents a fresh mandate for Aiyedatiwa to deepen developmental strides and improve the lives of the people.

He also noted that the election outcome reflects Nigerians’ belief in President Tinubu’s socioeconomic policies, expressing confidence in their capacity to drive sustainable progress and economic prosperity.

The Ekiti governor extended his gratitude to

the National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje; the Progressive Governors’ Forum, the party’s National Campaign Council, National Assembly members, elected and appointed political office holders and the entire party faithful for their hard work which contributed to the electoral success. He commended the peaceful conduct of Ondo residents during the polls and lauded Ekiti indigenes in Ondo for supporting Governor Aiyedatiwa’s re-election.

Additionally, Oyebanji praised INEC for its improved electoral process, particularly the prompt release of results, and acknowledged the professionalism of security agencies, which ensured the peaceful conduct of the election.

Governor Oyebanji encouraged Aiyedatiwa to remain magnanimous in victory by engaging his opponents to foster collaboration and deliver democratic dividends to Ondo State residents.

“On behalf of the Government and good people of Ekiti State, I congratulate my dear brother, Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa on this well deserved victory. While wishing him a successful tenure, we look forward to a more strategic partnership with his administration for the benefit of the citizens of the two sister states,” Oyebanji stated.

He also congratulated President Tinubu for his leadership in reforming the electoral process and applauded the APC for sustaining good governance in Ondo State.

“Hearty congratulations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his exemplary leadership and for sanitising the electoral process. Big congratulations to our party, the APC and a big congratulations to the good people of Ondo State who have voted for continuity of good governance under APC”, the statement added.
