Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has reaffirmed his dedication to both physical and stomach infrastructure as his government initiates the distribution of rice for the Easter and Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.
In a statement published by the Spokesperson to the State Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the distribution, which commenced within the last 24 hours, aims to reach all major population groups across the state. Already, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has received its allocated rice through its state leadership, with the Muslim community currently in the process of obtaining theirs.
Additionally, various interest groups, including traditional religion practitioners, media organizations, civil society groups, youth bodies, and student organizations, are listed to benefit from the exercise.
In a bid to alleviate the suffering of the people, Governor Adeleke announced plans for another round of rice and other palliative distributions after the yuletide period. The state and federal governments are collaborating to share more palliatives, demonstrating a commitment to supporting citizens during challenging times.
Governor Adeleke emphasized the importance of balancing physical and stomach infrastructure for the well-being of the populace. “Our government is combining both physical and stomach infrastructure for the benefit of our people,” he stated. “I am Mr. Infrastructure who is building physical and stomach infrastructure. Our administration is ensuring a proper mix of both to secure today and the future of our state.”
Highlighting the government’s efforts, Governor Adeleke assured citizens of continued support amidst economic challenges. “As flyover bridges are popping up, we will be feeding ourselves and providing interventions to tackle hunger, deprivation, high inflation, and the biting economic emergency,” he affirmed.
