Nigeria’s Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s visit to Imo State on Tuesday.
The Vice President who was visiting the state for the 29th edition of the National Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Clinic, was welcomed by the Governor of the state Hope Uzodimma and a crowd of supporters under the aegis of the national coalition group, who have been campaigning across Nigeria for the Vice President to run for president in the upcoming elections.
Meanwhile, the Department of State Services on Tuesday, countered claims made the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra Nnamdi Kanu that he is being maltreated in its custody. The seperatist leader on Monday filed a lawsuit against the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami and the Department of State Services seeking an order from the Federal High Court in Abuja to compel the DSS to allow him access food, medical care and clothes of his choice.
On Tuesday, Northern youth, under the aegis of the Northern Alliance Movement, trooped out in protest over incessant killings in the North. During the protest, one of the organisers, Zainab Ahmed broke down in tears while explaining how traumatised she had been, following the death of one of her friends who was kidnapped and raped to death in Katsina by eight men. In a video that has now gone viral, Zainab said the rapists also sent the disturbing video of the act to her family.
