Abia Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has endorsed Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC Presidential Candidate, and tipped his as the next president of Nigeria.
When asked for his reason for not pushing for an Igbo candidate to be president, he said, “There is nothing like Igbo presidency, there can only be a Nigerian president of Igbo descent.”
He also said his loyalty must come to the political party he belongs to, as party loyalty is supreme.
He refused to comment when questioned about Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate. He however maintained that the APC was solid in the polls, and will majority of the votes in over 20 States.
He then said, “I have no fear that come February 25th this year, before midnight, they will announce Bola Tinubu as the President Elect.”
He defended the APC government from those who claim that people are suffering from the naira redesign implemented by the APC led administration by saying, “the Central Bank is completely independent from any political party,” saying that the APC government had no hand in the naira redesign policy.
Senator Kalu, despite his talks on party loyalty, had recently been accused of anti-party activities, and it was also noted that his brother, Mascot Uzor Kalu, will be running against APC during the gubernatorial elections as the Action People’s Party (APP) candidate on March 11, 2022.
He stated that in the end, he only has one vote, and everyone will vote for the candidate of their choice.
