OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman’s sister, Ann Altman, has filed a lawsuit alleging that he regularly sexually abused her between 1997 and 2006.
The filing alleges that the last occurrence of the abuse happened when Mr. Altman was already an adult, while Ms. Altman was still a minor. The lawsuit seeks a jury trial and damages exceeding $75,000, equivalent to approximately $60,100.
“This situation causes immense pain to our entire family,” a statement from the family read, reflecting the emotional toll of the allegations.
Ms. Altman has previously made similar claims on social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter), where she detailed alleged incidents involving her brother. The current lawsuit marks a significant escalation, bringing the allegations into a legal arena.
Mr. Altman, renowned for his role in leading OpenAI and spearheading the 2022 launch of ChatGPT, a groundbreaking generative artificial intelligence chatbot, has yet to respond publicly to the accusations. OpenAI has also not issued a comment on the matter.
