The Chairman of West Africa’s largest airline, Air Peace Limited, Allen Onyema and the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, were awarded Personalities of the Year at the 2023 Vanguard Newspaper Awards.
The ceremony took place on Friday in Lagos, in commemoration with the 12th anniversary of Vanguard’s celebration of excellence.
In his acceptance speech, Onyema expressed deep gratitude to Vanguard Newspaper for recognising his nationalistic values, pioneering spirit, and philanthropy.
“This recognition of my efforts and interest in peace advocacy will spur me to do even more. I am deeply honored and encouraged to continue striving for the betterment of our nation,” he stated.
The event highlighted Onyema’s significant contributions to national unity and societal progress, emphasising his steadfast commitment to fostering peace and development in Nigeria.
His achievements have not only garnered national acclaim but also set a benchmark for leadership and community service.
Minister Tunji-Ojo was also lauded for his exemplary performance since taking office, notably for his directive to clear the backlog of passport applications within a specific timeframe.
His decisive actions and commitment to efficient governance is said to have distinguished him as a standout leader in the government.
