One passenger was killed and several others were injured on a Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore due to severe turbulence, the Singapore airlines reported.

The Boeing 777-300ER was diverted to Bangkok, landing at 3:45 pm on Tuesday.

In a statement, Singapore Airlines confirmed, “Flight SQ321 encountered severe turbulence en route.

Singapore Airlines offered its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased, stating, “Singapore Airlines offers its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased.”

The airline also mentioned that it had worked with Thai authorities to provide medical assistance to passengers and had sent a team to Bangkok to offer any additional help needed.

Thai authorities dispatched ambulances and emergency teams to Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Singapore’s Transport Minister Chee Hong Tat stated that the government would provide assistance to passengers and their families. He expressed his sadness in a statement posted on Facebook, saying, “I am deeply saddened to learn about the incident onboard Singapore Airlines flight SQ321 from London Heathrow to Singapore.”
