National Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan believes that River state Governor, Nyesom Wike’s interest has not changed and that he has been doing what he has always done these past few years which is criticizing the government that has underdeveloped the country while showcasing the achievements of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
He spoke in an interview during The Morning Show on Wednesday and addressed the hysteria in the public space over Wike’s collaboration with other governors saying that he has done this before but the discussion then was not him leaving the party rather it was him trying to attract people to the party.
“There’s nothing strange about Wike inviting people from the opposition party. He has always done that and at those times there was no issue about Wike moving to APC.”
He went on to state that unless Nyesom Wike goes to pick up another party’s membership card, there would be no problem regardless of consultations or discussions with individuals from other political parties.
He compared the APC’s problems to cancer and the PDP’s problems to malaria, claiming that Wike can’t leave malaria for cancer and that everything he was doing was in the best interests of the political party.
Mr. Ologbondiyan opined that the most important thing for the party right now is to win the 2023 general election, and that there would be no internal fighting as a result.
He added that the party is doing everything in its power to resolve any ongoing issues and to ensure that they enter the elections as a united party.
