Obama Urges Voters To Back Kamala Harris In ‘Tight’ Race Against Trump

Former President Barack Obama has called on Americans to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming US presidential election, warning of a “tight” race between her and former President Donald Trump. At a campaign rally in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Thursday, Obama urged voters to get to the polls, noting the importance of the November 5 election. He criticised Trump on various issues, including the economy and abortion, saying the stakes were not just about policies but about core values.

Speaking at the University of Pittsburgh, Obama described Trump as a politician driven by self-interest. “He’s not thinking about you,” Obama said, accusing Trump of trying to dismantle the Affordable Care Act, which provides healthcare to millions of Americans. Obama stressed that the election would be close because many Americans are still struggling and looking for solutions.

At the same time, Trump was campaigning in Detroit, Michigan, where he claimed the Biden-Harris administration was “destroying our country.” He focused much of his speech on the economy, specifically accusing the administration of failing to support American auto workers and allowing jobs to move to Mexico.

While Obama campaigned in Pennsylvania, a key swing state, Trump sought to rally support in Michigan, another battleground state. Both campaigns recognise the significance of these states in determining the outcome of the election. On the same day, Harris campaigned in Nevada, focusing on securing the support of Latino voters. With less than a month to go until Election Day, both parties are intensifying their efforts to win crucial votes in pivotal states.
