The General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Sunday, said the new Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye, was destined to be a king even before he was born.
He made the declaration on Sunday, while speaking at the Beulah Baptist Conference, Ogbomoso, venue of an interdenominational thanksgiving service for the new Soun of Ogbomoso.
The cleric while addressing the gathering, said he knew that Olaoye was born to become a king.
According to him, when he (Olaoye) came to inform him about the development, he told him to go and pray, he came back and said he had not heard anything, and he (Adeboye) told him to go back and pray again, and after a while, he came back and told him that God has spoken.
He added that it was then that he (Adeboye) told him (Olaoye) to go because he had been destined.
“To my critics, if I said no and God said yes, whose word is the final, God of course, so I cannot stop him because Pastor Ghandi was destined to be a king even before he was born and thank God it is coming to fruition”, he said.
Why counseling the monarch, Pastor Adeboye who took his scripture from the book of Acts 15 :18, enjoined him to embrace people and promote peace and unity among his subjects.
After the sermon the cleric annointed the monarch and his wife and then prayed for his peaceful and prosperous reign as Soun.
While addressing the congregation, Oba Ghandi, said Pastor Adeboye is his spiritual role model, assuring to be fair to all and sundry.
He said, “Pastor Adeboye has been a father to me, it is an unforgivable sin if you report me to Pastor Adeboye. I don’t like people reporting me to him as we have gone to the whole world together and I have watched him closely and I see a genuine man of God.
“I am happy today that the person who laid a hand on me to become a Pastor is the same who annointed me when I become a monarch.
“To my people in Ogbomoso, let us work together, let us develop this land and let’s make this land a place where our sons and daughters will be proud of. I believe it is a new dawn for Ogbomoso.
“I will be a monarch to the Chritsians, Muslims and traditional worshippers. I will be a king to every sons and daughters of this land, that is my strength and I believe that God will give me his mercy to lead His people. I want everybody in this land to pray for me so that I would rule aright.”
Special prayers were also offered by the President Nigerian Baptist Convention, Rev. (Dr.) Israel Akanji; Bishop Titus Olayinka; Archbishop Ayo Ladigbolu (rtd); Pastor JS Adegoke and Rev. (Dr.) Solomon Ademola Ishola, among many other clerics.
