‘No Subjects off Limits’: Oprah’s Bombshell Interview with Harry and Meghan Airs on Sunday

In one of the most highly anticipated TV events of the year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex—known to the masses as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle—will chat with Oprah Winfrey for their first televised sit-down since stepping away from their duties as senior British royals in January 2020.

The primetime interview, produced by CBS, also marks the couple’s first joint TV interview since their engagement and follows just weeks after the announcement that they are expecting their second child.

In a trailer for the upcoming special, airing on Sunday, March 7, Oprah claims “there is no subject that’s off-limits.” During the interview, the Sussexes are expected to discuss their marriage, the media scrutiny they’ve faced, their estrangement from the royal family, and their subsequent move to the US.

According to CBS, “Winfrey will speak with Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, in a wide-ranging interview, covering everything from stepping into life as a Royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work to how she is handling life under intense public pressure,” a statement from the network says.

“Later, the two are joined by Prince Harry as they speak about their move to the United States and their future hopes and dreams for their expanding family.”

The interview was taped prior to new allegations by former staff members of the royal household, who are accusing Markle of bullying and “emotional cruelty and manipulation” during her time at Kensington palace, per The Times report.

Buckingham Palace issued a public response on Wednesday, stating “We are clearly very concerned about allegations in The Times,” and that its human resources team “will look into the circumstances outlined in the article.”

When asked by Oprah how the palace might react to the interview, Meghan states, “I don’t know how they could expect that, after all of this time, we would still just be silent if there is an active role that ‘The Firm’ is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us,” with ‘The Firm’ referring to the House of Windsor.

In another preview, Harry claims that his “biggest concern was history repeating itself,” referring his late mother, Princess Diana, who was notably hounded by the British press before being killed in a car crash in 1997, after her vehicle was chased by paparazzi.
