The Radisson Hotel Group recently announced that its five Nigerian outlets have successfully completed the SGS Disinfection Monitored and Cleaning Checked mark by SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company.
The hotels include the Radisson Blu Anchorage Victoria Island, Radisson Blu Ikeja, Radisson Hotel Ikeja, Park Inn by Radisson Victoria Island and Park Inn by Radisson Abeokuta.
The official SGS Disinfection Monitored and Cleaning Checked mark confirms the Radisson Hotels in Nigeria have met the highest cleanliness, disinfection and safety measures and is based on the successful completion of an independent, comprehensive testing by SGS.
Conducted by local SGS inspectors, the on-site two-fold testing includes in-situ Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) and RT-qPCR testing.
Both testing methods are essential to confirm whether the hotel is conducting enhanced in-depth cleaning and disinfection measures in line with the Radisson Hotels Safety Protocol.
These comprehensive health and safety procedures, enhanced protocols and operational guidance, have been adapted based on local requirements and recommendations, to ensure guests’ safety and peace of mind from check-in to check-out.
The guidelines include hand sanitizing stations at all entrances, the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and protective screens, enhanced and recorded cleaning and disinfection frequency, social distancing in all areas of its hotels, including in the meeting and event facilities, training in local, Centers for Disease Control, or World Health Organization recommendations and health guidelines, reiteration of food safety standards and comprehensive staff training.
William McIntyre, Regional Director, Africa, Radisson Hotel Group said, “We remain committed to delivering a clean and safe environment with maximum hygiene standards to protect our guests, team members and partners.
“We are pleased SGS has validated that we are in full compliance with all the health, safety, disinfection protocols as outlined in the Radisson Hotels Safety Protocol, including a 20-step protocol and a 10-step protocol specifically defined for M&E. It gives us great pleasure to continue welcoming back our guests, whether they’re staying over, attending or hosting a conference or simply enjoying a well-deserved out-of-home meal.”
The global Radisson Hotels Safety Protocol was developed in partnership with a team of experts following an extensive review of all existing health and safety processes to further strengthen Radisson Hotel Group’s existing rigorous sanitation, cleanliness and disinfection guidelines at hotels globally.
“We currently have five hotels in Nigeria, located in Abeokuta and across Lagos. We are particularly proud of our hotels which have been open, always in accordance with the Nigerian government’s lockdown rules and regulations and will continue to welcome back guests aligned with the defined restrictions as and when they are announced by the authorities,” concluded McIntyre.
