Nigeria’s Flood Disaster + Rallies For Presidential Candidates -Trending With Ojy Okpe

 

Flooding currently plaguing several states in Nigeria, has paralyzed economic activities, including food supply chain supply. In Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, thousands of residents and travelers are currently stranded as the city has been overrun by heavy flooding.

In another development, Residents of Abacheke community in Imo state over the weekend appealed to the federal government to come to their aid following a flooding incident that submerged houses and farmlands.

While in Anambra State, 76 persons lost their lives when a boat carrying 85 passengers capsized over the weekend. Authorities say the 85 persons had boarded the boat in an attempt to escape the rising water level.

Finally, in the Philippines, a video showing a group of Nigerian cadets under the NIgerian seafarers development programme protesting at the Nigerian Embassy in Manila over alleged refusal by the diplomatic mission to listen to their grievances against the Nigerian Marítime Administration and Safety agency is making the rounds on social media.
