A Nigerian Court has awarded the sum of N50 million as damages against a federal lawmaker, Senator Elisha Abbo for his violent assault of Osimibibra Warmate in a sex toy shop in 2019.
The civil judgement comes weeks after a magistrate court found the senator not guilty of criminal assault citing insufficient evidence and failure of prosecution to prove its case.
A Senate committee was set up last year to investigate the incident. The committee’s report was submitted last October, but has not been considered as the case was still in court.
But the FCT High Court has now slammed a N50 million fine as damages against Senator Abbo.
