Governor of Nigeria’s northwestern state of Zamfara, Bello Matawalle has ordered the immediate closure of all secondary and primary schools in the state till further notice.
The governor’s order follows the abduction of scores of students at Kaya Day Secondary School in Maradun Local Government Area of the state by suspected terrorists.
Mr Matawalle has also placed restriction on vehicles in the local government areas from 6pm to 6am while the restriction in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital is from 8pm to 6am.
Reports suggest the terrorists invaded the school on Wednesday morning at 11am, where they abducted students of the school to an undisclosed location.
Governor Matawalle is from Maradun Local Government Area where the students were abducted.
Kaya Day Secondary School is a mixed institution for both boys and girls and has about three hundred students.
