Nigeria Senate Confirms Ahmed Kuru for a Second Term as Asset Management Boss

The Senate has confirmed the reappointment of Ahmed Kuru as the managing director of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) for a second term in office.
President Muhammadu Buhari had in December reappointed Kuru for a final term of five years.
Kuru’s nomination was confirmed on Wednesday in plenary shortly after a report was presented by Senator Uba Sani, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and other financial institutions.
Sani during his presentation said Kuru met all the requirements expected of him.
Eberechukwu Uneze and Aminu Ismail were also confirmed as executive directors in AMCON.
The senators also confirmed Bello Hassan and Mustapha Ibrahim as managing director and executive director of Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC).
