Nigeria: Police Brutality Continues, Arise Cameraman Beaten Shortly after IG’s Speech Dissolving SARS

Policemen have attacked and brutalised an Arise News Channel crew covering the IGP Mohammed Adamu’s dissolution of rogue police unit, the Special Anti-robbery  Squad (SARS).
The cameraman Francis Ogbonna was hit several times on the head and his camera destroyed, while his correspondent, Ferdinand Duruoha took to his heels after being intimidated.
Duruoha fled after hearing orders of “Shoot him! shoot him!”
The crew were interviewing protesters who had gathered at the Police headquarters.

According to the Arise crew, the Police pounced on anyone they could, with Ogbonna one of many injured.
Ogbonna has been taken to the hospital as Arise News management engages with the Police.
