The National Consultative Front, NC Front says it has set up a high powered political merger committee to facilitate the fusion of various platforms and stakeholders to rescue Nigeria from what it says is the avoidable misery brought upon citizens by the ruling parties in the country.
Leaders of the NC Front says the move is aimed at facilitating a new Mega Political Movement that will offer a credible alternative platform to the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) and main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Some members of the committee include a former Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives Ghali Na’aba, Olu Agunloye, Issa Aremu, and Raph Nwosu.
The movement also said it will enlist a former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Attahiru Jega, Pat Utomi, Kingsley Moghalu, Oby Ezekwesiili, Obadiah Mailafia, and some #EndSars Youth Leaders as Special Advisors.
In a statement by Tanko Yunusa, Head, Public Affairs Bureau, NC Front, the coalition has put together a 22 member Merger Committee with a clear mandate to help seal the formation of a credible alternative ideologically driven mega political movement for all Citizens of Conscience.
“In a conscious bid to facilitate a credible alternative mega ideological political movement to rescue Nigeria from the predatory grip of the ruling political parties and leadership, Leaders of Conscience of the National Consultative Front, NC Front hereby wish to announce that we have set up a high powered political merger Committee to facilitate the fusion of various platforms, allies and stakeholders that share our agenda in the NC Front to rescue and save Nigeria from the avoidable misery and hopelessness brought upon the Nigerian Peoples by the ruling parties in Nigeria,” Yunusa said in the statement.
“The 22 member Merger Committee, which was a product of inclusive nominations from various Stakeholders and Allies in the NCFront, has been charged with a clear mandate to help, the NC Front political coalition, negotiate and seal the formation of a credible alternative ideologically driven mega political movement for all Citizens of Conscience and ideological groups that share the aspiration of the NCFront to rescue Nigeria from looming anarchy and doom foisted on Nigeria by the ruling political parties and leadership of Nigeria
“NCFront, Leaders of Conscience, fully aware of the ongoing national constitutional process in the country anchored by the Olisa Agbakoba led People’s Constitution Drafting Committee and the overwhelming desire of Nigerians to find a formidable people and service-oriented alternative for the disastrous rulership of APC and the PDP in Nigeria have decided to create a new mega political platform to produce the next political leadership and form the next government in Nigeria.
