A former Chairman of Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Professor Maurice Iwu says the rising cases of violence in Imo state is the southeastern state’s share of the national insecurity.

Prof. Iwu, who is also the Chairman of, Imo Economic Development Initiative told ARISE News on Wednesday that the situation in the state is one that’s always evident in countries where unemployment and poverty are high as it is in Nigeria.

He spoke on an ARISE News programme, The Morning Show on ways of solving the rising tension in the state, the attacks on INEC offices especially in the state and the possibility of major political players in the state come together for peace talks. Watch the interview
