A Nigerian monarch, the Emir of Kajuru in northwestern Kaduna state Adamu Alhassan has been released by his abductors.
Terrorists who on Sunday abducted the 85-year-old emir had on Monday demanded a ransom of N200 million, some $487,804 for his release.
ARISE News had reported that the monarch was kidnapped in the wee hours of Sunday along with 13 of his family members, including two grandchildren.
News of the ransom demand was disclosed by spokesperson of the Kajuru Emirate Council, Dahiru Abubakar on Monday.
But according to the Chairman of Kajuru Local Government Area, Cafra Caino told journalists in the state that the emir was released Monday evening.
However, 13 other members of his family and cabinet are still with the abductors.
