Former Lagos Governor Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged the flag bearer of Nigeria’s governing party, the All Progressives Congress.
Tinubu received votes from the party delegates in the indirect election held at the Eagle Square in Abuja.
The presidential primary went to a vote after efforts by the party heirachy to select a consensus candidate failed, despite negotiations on different levels.
Tinubu and the APC will have Atiku Abubakar ofthe People’s Democratic Party to contend with in next Februasy’s general elections.
