A former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha has been arrested by operatives of the Imo State police command for unsealing the Royal Spring Palm Hotels and Apartments.
The Imo state government had sealed the property which is situated along Akachi road, Owerri the Imo state capital.
Enyinnaya Onuegbu, the commissioner for lands, had on Friday led a team of government officials and police officers to seal the property.
In response, Okorocha had led his entourage to unseal the property on Sunday. The seized property allegedly belongs to his wife, Nneoma Rochas Okorocha.
The ex-governor who is now a senator representing Imo West at the Senate had gone to the estate with his entourage and ordered the unsealing of the estate.
Not long after forcefully gaining access into the property, government officials had mobilised to the premises and whisked him away.
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, who also confirmed Okorocha’s arrest said he will be arraigned on Monday.
