A Federal High court sitting in Abuja has fixed March 28 for ruling on the bail application by suspended deputy police commissioner Abba kyari and four other police officers.
In a dramatic twist of events just inside the court premises, a lady said to be the wife of Kyari, slumped and fainted upon hearing the ruling on kyari’s bail application.
In a viral video the woman can be seen carried out and rushed into one of the offices in the court.
Kyari, who is charged with illegal dealing in hard drugs, has asked the court to grant him bail on grounds of ill health and that the charges against him were bailable offences.
However, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency opposed the application saying kyari had the capacity to interfere with its witnesses and could make himself unavailable for trial should he be released.
The NDLEA also urged the court to deny all the defendants bail but to grant an accelerated hearing of the case. The court consequently fixed march 28 for the ruling.
