Eight members of a popular Nigerian church have been released by their abductors, general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God has confirmed.
They were ambushed and kidnapped on March 27 along the Kachia-Kafanchan highway while they travelled for an Easter programme
Mr Adeboye in a post on his Twitter account on Thursday said the released members have been taken to the hospital for proper checkup.
“Today I got the exciting news that our brethren who were in captivity of kidnappers have all been released and taken to the Hospital for checkup and tests,” his tweet read.
“Glory be to Jesus. We pray for lasting peace in all troubled regions of the country in Jesus name.”
It is not clear if any ransom was paid but reports suggest the kidnappers had contacted the church and demanded N50 million as ransom.
