Nigeria’s Super Eagles were in action again on Tuesday against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, the second friendly encounter in three days.
It was a goalless encounter with three shots on target from both sides in the entire game.
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr made two changes from Friday’s clash, Valentine Ozornwafor and Ahmed Musa – started in place of the injured William Troost Ekong and Oghenekaro Etebo.
With a drab first half, Terem Moffi replaced Paul Onuachu at the start of the second half having a quick chance to score three minutes after the interval but he miss-hit his effort from the edge of the box.
Abraham Marcus had a debut appearance and replaced Jamilu Collins in the 67th minute. Anayo Iwuala also came on for captain Ahmed Musa. Karl Toko Ekambi could have won the match for the Lions in the 71st minute but his header inside the box was wayward.
Leicester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho should have won the game but his goal-bound effort was deflected for a corner.
Super Eagles line-up– Maduka Okoye; Jamilu Collins, Shehu Abdullahi, Valentine Ozornwafor, Chidozie Awaziem; Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi, Moses Simon, Ahmed Musa (C); Kelechi Iheanacho, Paul Onuachu
