Niger has banned all exports of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) until further notice, the government said in a statement on Tuesday.
National production should be used to supply the domestic market, and in case of surplus a special authorization can be requested to export it, the statement said.
Niger normally exports its surplus petroleum gas to neighbouring Nigeria.

We caused it upon ourselves. We are a corrupt and shameless nation. I never knew you could be importing what we have in abundance from Niger instead of buying their sheep and goats as a favour to good neighbourliness only
No sir. The subject of this ban is not corruption. It is a response to the intended attack of Mr. President using the ECOWAS to meddle in Niger's coup plot to force the hand of the military to democratic rule.
Nothing more.
I understand Bobby Abu's point of view. Why should Nigeria import LPG from Niger? This is an asset Nigeria has more than Niger. Corruption is Nigeria's number one problem and it emanates from lack of servant leadership.
Am neither Niger or Nigerian.
What of your masters they want their lng shares of lng for their garden society. Your people are the one going to suffer for these ban..
Get something clearly understood. It was Buhari who wanted to assist Niger by importing Nigeren LPG to boost their revenue. We do not really need their gas or Petroleum for anything. This is the problem a country which is being governed by a leader whose ancestral home is in another country. His or her allegiance will always be to that country. Didn't we build roads and rail line for them when some places where our economy comes from have not been provided with good roads and rail lines; places like Lagos to Benin, Agbo, Onisha, Portharcourt, Aba, Calabar, Uyo etc.
It's boils down to corruption. Nepotism is just one of the symptoms of corruption.
Your brain is completely useless, your explanation shows it, if not for corruption and uselessness of the Nigerian rulers, how can Niger be the ones supplying petroleum products to Nigeria???
Any time I see a comment laced with insult, I know the person is at the bottom of the bottoms in subjects of intellectual discourse and it is no responsibility of mine to teach grown men who lack home training. Take that to the bank!
Liquefied Natural gas that Nigeria has in abundance far more than what Niger has is what we have been important from Niger Republic? Chai
