The Govenorship Election Tribunal sitting in Lafia has declared David Ombugadu of the People’s Democratic Party, the Governor of Nasarawa State and winner of the March 18 governorship election, nullifying the election of Audu Sule of the All Progressives Congress APC.
The Tribunal in its Judgment delivered virtually held that the Petitioners duly proved their Petition before the Tribunal.
It may be recalled that Ombugadu and PDP approached the Tribunal contending amongst others that his actual votes were unjustifiably reduced while that of Sule and APC was increased to allegedly aid his victory particularly at Gayam and Chiroma Wards of Lafia Local Government Area.
The Tribunal ordered that the certificate of return issued to Alhaji Sule should be withdrawn and issued to Ombugadu as the validly elected Governor of Nasarawa State.
