Naira Swap: If Not for the Judgement of the Supreme Court, Nigeria Would Be in Flames in a Week’s Time, Says Robert Clark

In an interview with Arise News on Thursday, the Attorney General of the Federation, AGF and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami reacted to the ruling of the Supreme Court temporarily halting a ban on cash swap stating that despite the dissatisfaction of the Federal Government, it will obey the order of the Supreme Court. However, he  has filed a preliminary objection challenging the jurisdiction of the ruling.

Despite the dissatisfaction of the Federal Government, the presidential candidate for the All Progressive Congress, APC, in a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga on Wednesday, applauded the Supreme Court verdict expressing his thanks for “ruling wisely on the side of the people who have been subjected to undue agony and pain since this policy was announced”.

Meanwhile, reacting to the Malami’s speech and the apex court ruling Friday morning is the Elder Statesman, Robert Clark on Arise News The Morning Show.

He expressed his disappointment in Malami’s speech saying that “he is greatly disappointed in the Attorney General’s view” and he is “wrong in all aspect of this matter” and the preliminary objection will not be given any object but struck out. Clerk went on to commend the ruling of the apex court saying that it is for the benefit of Nigerians. He said; “If Not for the Judgement of the Supreme Court, Nigeria would be in flames in a week’s time.”
