Director general of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) Mojisola Adeyeye says the recently received four million doses of Moderna Vaccine from the United States government through the COVAX facility is safe and efficacious for administration on Nigerians.
Ms Adeyeye stated this on Tuesday when she featured on an ARISE News Programme, The Morning Show. According to the NAFDAC boss, the agency has also received the Sinopharm vaccine dossier from the World Health Organisation (WHO) password access link a month ago.
Ms Adeyeye, a professor of Pharmaceutics and Drug Product Evaluation noted that the agency is reviewing the dossier and will make its decision known very soon on the Sinopharm vaccine, which is made in China.
She told ARISE News that the efficacy level of the Sinopharm vaccine is about seventy-four per cent just as the AstraZeneca vaccine.
