Meghan, Duchess Of Sussex, Returns To Instagram With A New Year’s Video

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has marked her Instagram return by sharing a celebratory New Year’s video with her followers.

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has started the new year by launching her first Instagram account since 2020.

Reports on Wednesday confirmed that the account, @meghan, belongs to the Duchess. Her first post is a black-and-white video of herself at the beach, dressed in white, drawing “2025” in the sand on an overcast day. The account has already gained more than 200,000 followers.

Meghan and Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, were married in 2018 and initially shared the @KensingtonRoyal account with Prince William and Kate, Princess of Wales.

In 2019, Meghan and Harry launched their own Instagram account, @SussexRoyal, reflecting their growing separation from the royal family. The account was discontinued in 2020 when the couple stepped back from their royal duties.

Before her marriage, Meghan was active on Instagram, where she shared content related to her role in the TV series Suits. In a 2022 interview with The Cut, she hinted at her return to the platform, saying,

“Do you want to know a secret? I’m getting back … on Instagram.”

However, Meghan has also expressed hesitation about returning to social media due to concerns about online harassment.

In 2023, she and Harry advocated for stronger content moderation on social media platforms, warning about their potential impact on young people’s mental health.
