Marvel Star Jonathan Majors Faces Abuse Allegations in Court

In a New York court, Jonathan Majors, the Marvel star known for his roles in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” is facing serious allegations of abuse made by his ex-girlfriend, dancer Grace Jabbari. The court heard detailed testimony from Jabbari, who described a relationship that allegedly turned increasingly violent, culminating in an assault in March.

Jabbari testified that the 34-year-old actor assaulted her in the back of a hired SUV in March, throwing glass candles at her head and berating her over mentioning an ex-boyfriend. Sobbing at times during her testimony, she revealed that the abuse had been ongoing for months. If convicted, Majors could face up to one year in prison.

The incident allegedly left Jabbari with bruises and a broken finger. She claimed that Majors slapped her and put his hand on her neck during the assault. The court also heard about previous instances of violence, including Majors throwing objects that left dents in the wall during an argument.

The 30-year-old Jabbari initially met Majors on the set of “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” where she worked as a movement coach in September 2021. Their professional relationship evolved into a personal one, but Jabbari described it as becoming increasingly violent over time.

During her testimony, lawyers played a recording of Majors yelling, where he referred to himself as a great man and expressed a need for a woman like Coretta Scott King or Michelle Obama. The court also learned about an incident on March 25, where Majors allegedly assaulted Jabbari in the backseat of a chauffeur-driven SUV after receiving a text message from another woman.

The defence argued that it was Jabbari who assaulted Majors, stating that he emerged from the SUV bloody and scratched. Majors has denied all charges, and his once-rising career is now in limbo. Marvel has postponed the release date of “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,” where Majors plays the lead, since his arrest in March.

The trial continues as the court hears further testimony from both sides.
