Manchester United’s Premier League title hopes took a further hit as they were held to a 1-1 draw by West Brom at The Hawthorns on Sunday.
Mbaye Diagne stunned United with a header after just two minutes, outmuscling Victor Lindelof to power an effort past David de Gea.
United rallied as Bruno Fernandes scored a brilliant hooked volley a minute before half-time to send the Red Devils in level.
Both teams had chances to win the game after the break: Diagne had a golden double-chance which De Gea made two vital saves from, while the forward also volleyed over from close range late on; Mason Greenwood and Scott McTominay also went close for the visitors, while Harry Maguire hit the post with one of the last touches of the game.
In the end, a draw suited neither side: United missed the chance to close the gap on League leaders Man City, while West Brom remain well adrift of safety.
