After his intemperate outburst over his removal as governor of Ebonyi State by a Federal High Court in Abuja, David Umahi has proceeded to the Court of Appeal seeking a reversal of the ruling of the trial court.
However, Umahi’s choice of words did not escape the Nigerian Bar Association, which expressed utter dismay over what it described as his “unfortunate and totally unacceptable reaction” to the court ruling and the trial judge, Justice Inyang Ekwo.
The NBA went on to demand an immediate apology from the governor and a retraction of his comments against the person and judgement of Justice Ekwo of the Federal High Court.
To discuss the fallout of the ruling removing Umahi and Kelechi Igwe as governor and deputy governor of Ebonyi State respectively, as well unfolding political developments in the state, is Abia Onyike, a former Ebonyi State Commissioner for Information.
