Sierra Leone came from four goals down to pick up a 4-4 draw with Nigeria in the group L African cup of Nations qualifying match at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, the Edo state capital.
Nigeria had taken the lead through Alex Iwobi inside five minutes and had total control of the contest with first-half goals from Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, and another from Iwobi to lead 4-0 within 31 minutes.
But the Leone stars of Sierra Leone pulled one goal back from Kwame Quee four minutes before half time.
The visitors however came out for the second half firing from all cylinders, scoring three goals, two from Alhaji Kamara and Mustapha Bundu putting the Super Eagles under serious tension to level the game.
The result means Nigeria still sits top of group L with seven points, Benin is on three points and plays Lesotho who has one point on Saturday, while Sierre Leone has two points.
The super Eagles will travel to Sierra Leone on Tuesday, November 17, for the return leg at the Siaka Stevens Stadium in Freetown, the Sierra Leone capital.
