Lalong: Pope Francis Hasn’t Told Me to Reject Appointment as Tinubu Campaign DG

Plateau State Governor and Chairman, Northern Governor’s Forum Simon Lalong says as a Catholic, Pope Francis has not told him to reject his appointment as the DG of the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign council.

The governor who was at the presidential villa to thank President Muhammadu Buhari for the state pardon granted former governors of Plateau State Joshua Dariye and his Taraba State counterpart,  Jolly Nyame, as well as the approval of several projects cited in Plateau State was reacting to criticisms from some Chriatian groups since his appointment.
The Muslim- Muslim ticket choice of the governing party has continued to generate reactions and strong criticism from some quarters including the umbrella body of Christian’s in the country
 The Governor maintained that Nigerians are at liberty to vote for candidates of their choice on Election Day and as a governor, he is responsible for people of all faiths and not just Christians.
