The legislature described the appointment as “a strategic effort to bring grassroots politicians into the administration, ultimately benefiting the poor.”
According Zarewa Ata’s background as a grassroots politician, who served as Speaker of the house and who never abandoned his constituency, made him an ideal choice.
He said Ata’s pedigree and exposure in grassroots politics would propel him to render good service to the nation as a member of the Federal Executive Council.
