Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos police command on Wednesday, were in full display of might ahead of the End Bad Governance nationwide Protest. The armed officers were seen jogging and singing in full armour as they marched to different locations.

The Lagos State Police Command’s Anti-Bomb Squad on Wednesday, said it had deactivated an Improvised Explosive Device in the Ikeja area of the state Benjamin Hudeyin said a vigilant police officer reported that a young man had come out of a car and dropped a bag by the side of the Nigeria Customs Service Federal Operations Unit’s fence, after which he returned to the vehicle and sped off the area then was immediately cordoned off while IED experts were deployed to the spot. Kaduna Police has corrected a previous press release error, clarifying that the personnel deployment for security was not 25,000.

The Police Command clarified that they made a possible deployment of sufficient number personnel and not the twenty five thousand as stated in the release yesterday by the spokesperson of the states police command, Mansir Hassan.

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, has cautioned Igbo people to stay away from the nationwide protest starting today, August 1st. In the video now making rounds on social media, Kalu warned that they would be used as scapegoats. He advised the Igbo community to “be weak for the End Bad Governance Protest and allow those who are strong to go out and protest.
