Justin Timberlake Arrested For Driving While Intoxicated In New York

Singer and actor Justin Timberlake has been arrested in New York for driving while intoxicated, local officials have said. The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office stated that Timberlake was arrested and formally charged on Tuesday morning but did not provide further details.

The incident occurred in Sag Harbor, a wealthy village in the Hamptons on Long Island, known as a popular summer destination for celebrities. Timberlake was released without bail after being charged.

Timberlake, 43, was preparing to embark on a global tour for his sixth album, “Everything I Thought It Was”. The former member of the boy band NSYNC, has established a successful solo career as a singer, songwriter, and actor, becoming one of the best-selling music artists in the world. He has also starred in notable films.

The pop star has been open about his struggles with excessive drinking in the past and has sought help for it.

In New York, penalties for driving while intoxicated can include up to a year in jail, a $1,000 fine, and the suspension of a driver’s license for at least six months.

Timberlake was scheduled to perform two shows in Chicago this weekend, followed by a performance at New York’s Madison Square Garden next Tuesday. It is unclear how this arrest will impact his tour schedule.
