Ahead of the launch of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s digital currency, the official website for the eNaira went live at the weekend and recorded over a million hits in 24 hours.
The CBN-issued digital currency provides a unique form of money denominated in the nation’s legal tender.
It serves as both a medium of exchange and a store of value, offering better payment prospects in retail transactions when compared to cash payments.
