The Jigawa State Government has opened talks with officials of the Islamic Development Bank and the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa to attract investments exceeding $50 million in Agriculture.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media Affairs, Hajiya Zainab Ringim in Kano.
According to the statement, Governor Namadi has taken a bold step to ensure food security for all the residents, especially at the time the country bedevills with hunger and starvation.
Ringim revealed that her boss who led a high-powered delegation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia sought to establish robust social and business partnerships with prominent financial institutions to enhance agricultural productivity to drive economic growth in the state.
The statement added, “Education remains a focal point of the mission, with discussions underway with the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) to finalize plans for various educational projects.”
According to her, “These projects include the establishment of an Islamic University and 11 Islamic Centers across Jigawa State to expand access to quality education.
She disclosed that Gov. Namadi’s delegation is also exploring collaboration opportunities to conduct health and medical outreach programs, on corrective eye surgery initiatives in the state.
Ringim explained that this collaborative effort is geared to address crucial healthcare needs to enhance citizens’ well-being.
