The leaders of South Korea and Japan met in Tokyo in what’s been hailed as a new milestone in their relationship.
It’s the first time a South Korean leader has been invited to Tokyo in 12 years. The two countries hope to rebuild security and economic ties in the face of continued threats from North Korea. It’s Pyongyang’s fourth missile launch in a week and comes as the US and South Korea hold joint navy drills. Japan has called a national security council meeting in response to the test.
