Jacob Anebe: Senator Natasha Has Surpassed All Her Predecessors’ Achievements Within A Year, No Reason For Recall

Jacob Anebe has emphasised Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has surpassed all predecessors’ achievements in one year, making her recall unjustifiable

Jacob Anebe, former Senior Special Adviser on Secondary Education to ex-Governor Ibrahim Idris, has acknowledged Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s achievements in Kogi State, emphasising that there is no justification for recalling her from the Senate.

Recounting an incident where constituents were misled under the guise of an agricultural and women’s empowerment program, only to later discover that it was actually an attempt to gather signatures for a recall petition against the senator, Anebe in an interview with ARISE NEWS on Wednesday, noted that she has surpassed all her predecessors’ achievements within just one year.

Anebe emphasised, “As of today, the senator is the most performing senator we have ever had in Kogi State. Senator Natasha has surpassed all her predecessors’ achievements in one year; we don’t have any reason to call her back.”

He further alleged that the recall initiative was orchestrated by members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), pointing out that individuals who submitted the petition to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) held positions within the current state government and were registered APC members.

“The purported recall is not by the constituents; it is being done by some people in the APC. Let me start from those who went to present the said petitions to INEC. The lady, Charity, is a special adviser in the government of Governor Ododo, a member of the APC. Out of the five men who stood behind her, I know three of them very well, who are SA or SSA in this current government, all registered members of the APC.”

The recall petition faced procedural challenges when INEC raised concerns about missing contact information from the petitioners, including the absence of addresses, telephone numbers, and email addresses, as required by regulations. Subsequently, the Federal High Court in Lokoja issued an interim injunction restraining INEC from acting on any petition containing fictitious signatures from the Kogi Central Senatorial District.
