J.K. Rowling and Elon Musk have been named in a criminal complaint submitted to French authorities, alleging “acts of aggravated cyber harassment” against Imane Khelif, the Algerian boxer and new Olympic champion.
Nabil Boudi, Khelif’s Paris-based lawyer, confirmed that both individuals were mentioned in the complaint, which was filed with the Paris Prosecutor’s Office’s anti-online hatred division on Friday.
The Paris Prosecutor’s Office (National Center for the Fight Against Online Hatred) has confirmed receiving the complaint from Khelif and has initiated an investigation.
On August 13, the National Center for the Fight Against Online Hatred reached out to the OCLCH (Central Office for the Fight Against Crimes Against Humanity and Hate Crimes) to investigate allegations of cyber harassment based on gender, public insults related to gender, incitement to discrimination, and public insults based on origin.
