Israeli Forces Rescue Four Hostages from Central Gaza Strip

Israel’s army reported that four Israeli captives who were taken by Hamas from the Nova music festival during the group’s attacks on October 7th have been freed.

According to the Israel Defence Forces, the people who were saved are Noa Argamani, 25, Almog Meir Jan, 21, Andrei Kozlov, 27, and Shlomi Ziv, 40.

The IDF reported that they were saved after a combined “complex” daytime operation including the Israel Securities Authority and the Israel Police from two different locations in Nuseirat, central Gaza.

The IDF stated that they have been moved to the ‘Sheba’ Tel-HaShomer Medical Centre for additional medical testing and are in good health.

Numerous people, including children, have reportedly died and been injured in the operation, according to Gaza’s health ministry, which is governed by Hamas.

It’s reported that the Al-Aqsa hospital’s staff is having difficulty tending to the victims.

“Dozens of injured people are lying on the ground and medical teams are trying to save them with the simple medical capabilities they have,” the ministry stated on its Facebook page.

The rare rescue occurred eight months into the Israel-Hamas war.

Of the 251 hostages taken by the group during its attack on the music festival on October 7 and other parts of southern Israel, 116 are still in Palestinian territory, 41 of whom the army claims are dead.

In accordance with an agreement reached in November, Hamas released 240 Palestinian inmates from Israeli jails and 105 hostages in exchange for a week-long ceasefire.

Ismail Haniyeh, the political head of Hamas, responded to the military assault in Nuseirat by stating that Israel could not impose its decisions on the group.

According to him, the organisation would not consent to a ceasefire agreement until Palestinian security was ensured.
