Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced on Sunday that Israel has defeated Hezbollah, describing the elimination of its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, as a significant accomplishment in the nation’s security efforts.
Katz made this statement during a ceremony at Israel’s foreign ministry, where he emphasised the importance of sustaining pressure to secure lasting results from the victory. “Now it is our job to continue to put pressure in order to bring about the fruits of that victory,” Katz said.
Katz stressed that Israel has no interest in intervening in Lebanon’s internal politics, acknowledging that Israel has learned lessons from past experiences. However, he expressed hope that the international community would seize this opportunity to pursue a political resolution, encouraging Lebanon to join other nations in normalising relations with Israel.
The minister’s remarks reflect Israel’s strategic approach to regional stability and its commitment to rallying diplomatic support toward reducing Hezbollah’s influence.
