Irish Chef Alan Fisher Sets New Guinness World Record, Dethroning Nigeria’s Hilda Baci in Cooking Marathon

Alan Fisher, an Irish-born owner and chef of a restaurant in Japan, has unseated Hilda Baci, the renowned Nigerian chef, as the individual with the world’s longest cooking marathon record, according to the Guinness World Records (GWR). The announcement was made by GWR officials on Tuesday, marking a significant milestone in the culinary world.

Fisher, hailing from Ireland, managed to break not one but two cooking-related GWR titles during his remarkable feat. First, he secured the title for the longest cooking marathon (individual) by clocking an impressive time of 119 hours and 57 minutes. This extraordinary duration surpassed the previous record held by Hilda Baci, making Fisher the new titleholder in this category.

Following his triumph in the cooking marathon, Fisher went on to claim the title for the longest baking marathon (individual). He achieved this feat with a remarkable time of 47 hours and 21 minutes, surpassing the previous record set by Wendy Sandner (USA) at 31 hours and 16 minutes.

Guinness World Records officials acknowledged Fisher’s exceptional culinary skills and endurance, recognizing his dedication and perseverance throughout the gruelling marathons. Fisher’s accomplishment highlights not only his individual talent but also the spirit of competition and determination within the culinary community.
