IOC Aims to Vaccinate as Many Tokyo Olympic Participants as Possible

A five-party meeting was held on Wednesday for the Tokyo 2020 games where the International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach said initiatives have been made to vaccinate as many people entering Japan for the games.

Bach, Andrew Parsons, the president of the International Paralympic Committee, Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike and government Olympic minister Tamayo Marukawa joined the video conference meeting.

Participants of the meeting reconfirmed the importance of tackling COVID-19 with countermeasures in order to hold a safe and secure tournament.

The postponed Olympic are to open on July 23 followed by the Paralympics on Aug. 24.
