Imo Governor Uzodinma Says Akpabio Will Emerge Nigeria’s Next Senate President

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo state has expressed confidence that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) choice of Senator Godswill Akpabio, will emerge as the president of the 10th Senate due for inauguration on Tuesday.

Senator Uzodinma, expressed the party’s confidence Monday during a chat with newsmen after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the State House, Abuja.

Uzodinma, who is also the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), said the committee set up by President Tinubu to resolve the controversy over the forthcoming leadership race has achieved substantial progress in collaboration with the outgoing Senate President, Dr Ahmad Lawan. 

He assured that Lawan will work for the emergence of the preferred candidates of the party.
